The Audio-Technica ATM355VF is a professional compact clip-on cardioid condenser microphone designed specifically for string and woodwind instruments. Its small size and included AT8491V violin mount and AT8491F flute mount allow secure, non-invasive attachment to violins, violas, flutes, and similar instruments without affecting playability.
Featuring a high-sensitivity fixed-charge back-plate condenser element, the ATM355VF delivers clear, natural, and well-balanced sound reproduction across a wide frequency range of 40 Hz to 20,000 Hz. It handles high sound pressure levels up to 148.5 dB SPL with a dynamic range of 126.5 dB, faithfully capturing every subtle nuance and dynamic detail of musical performances.
The cardioid polar pattern effectively reduces pickup from the sides and rear, providing excellent isolation of the desired instrument while minimizing bleed from other instruments or stage noise. A flexible, lightweight gooseneck ensures the microphone stays precisely positioned even during energetic performances.
The included AT8543 in-line power module features a switchable 80 Hz high-pass filter to eliminate unwanted low-frequency rumble. Interchangeable elements (hypercardioid and omnidirectional) are available for greater versatility.
