This is the Fly 3 Bass sold as a stack. You get the Fly 3 Bass combo, the matching Fly 103 extension cabinet and a power supply, and connecting the two boxes takes the rig to 6 watts in true stereo. The amount of low end that comes out of two 3-inch speakers is the part people do not believe until they hear it.

  • Fly 3 Bass combo: 3 watts through a single 3-inch full range speaker, with a cabinet designed to push low end out of a tiny enclosure.
  • Fly 103 extension cabinet: a second 3-watt cabinet with its own built-in cable, so setup is one plug.
  • True stereo: the pair delivers a wide sonic field rather than the same signal twice.
  • Onboard overdrive and compression: voice the tone at the amp instead of adding pedals.
  • Line input: play along with a track.
  • Line and headphone output: practise silently or record.
  • Power supply included: no need to buy one separately for the pack.
  • Doubles as stereo speakers: connect a phone or computer and use the pair for playback.

Description

The Fly 3 Bass on its own is a 3-watt practice amp. Bought as this pack it becomes a stack: the combo, the Fly 103 extension cabinet and a power supply in one box. Connect the two cabinets and the amount of bass coming out of a rig this size stops being reasonable, which is exactly the trick Blackstar's Fly series is known for.

The Fly 3 Bass combo

A single 3-inch full range speaker sits in a specially designed cabinet, and the design is what allows the combo to pump out low end that its dimensions should not permit. Highs stay articulate. Onboard overdrive and compression let you voice the tone at the amp, so a bass plugged straight in can go from clean and controlled to grinding without a pedalboard.

What the Fly 103 cabinet adds

The Fly 103 turns the combo into a 6-watt stereo setup. It arrives with its own built-in cable, so there is nothing to source and nothing to wire. Running the pair in true stereo widens the sound field considerably compared with the combo working alone.

Practice, recording and playback

A line input takes a backing track and the line and headphone output covers silent practice and recording, which makes the Fly 3 Bass an easy amp to keep on a desk. The same pair of cabinets will also run from a phone or a computer as a set of powered stereo speakers when the bass is back in its case.

What is in the pack

Fly 3 Bass combo amplifier, Fly 103 extension cabinet and power supply, ready to play as an all in one compact bass stack.
