The HT-212VOC MK III is the 2 x 12 inch cabinet built to sit under Blackstar's HT series MK III heads. Two 12-inch Celestion speakers give the head a rich, dense, full range voice, and the open back keeps the response articulate with a low end that spreads around the room rather than firing straight at the audience.

  • Two 12-inch Celestion speakers: powerful projection with a full bodied frequency response.
  • Open back design: clear, articulate response and an enveloping bass character.
  • Series and parallel options: wiring choices to suit the head you are running.
  • Mono and stereo options: the cab is not tied to a single amp configuration.
  • Works with 4 and 16 ohm heads: matched to HT series MK III amps, and usable with other amp heads at those impedances.
  • Heavy duty construction: classic standing design built for road use and long studio sessions.

Description

The Blackstar HT-212VOC MK III is purpose built to pair with the company's HT series MK III amplifiers. Two 12-inch Celestion speakers embolden the sound of the head sitting on top with a rich, dense and full range character, and this is a vertical standing 2 x 12 rather than a wide one, which keeps the stage footprint tight.

Open back, and what it does to the sound

The open back design gives an articulate response and a low end that is enveloping rather than tightly focused. Sound leaves the back of the cabinet as well as the front, so the bass fills the space behind you instead of beaming forward. It is a different feel from a sealed 4 x 12 and it suits rooms where you want the amp to breathe.

Wiring options

Series and parallel wiring plus mono and stereo options mean the HT-212VOC MK III is not locked to one amplifier. It is matched to HT series MK III heads, and it will also take other 4 and 16 ohm heads, so it can stay in the rig when the amp on top changes.

Build

Cabinet construction is top quality and heavy duty, made to last the long haul through road life and marathon studio sessions. The classic standing design keeps the speakers at a height where you can hear what you are actually playing.
