Modelling and voicing
The Floor Three uses advanced DSP modelling with component-level precision, bolstered by Blackstar's patented ISF for single-knob customisation and In The Room technology for real-world amp character. On board you get 12 electric amp models comprising classic Blackstar and Ampton tones, three bass amp models, two acoustic voices and a convincing acoustic simulator. A power valve Response switch lets you toggle between EL84, EL34 and 6L6 emulations, which changes the behaviour of the power stage rather than only the EQ.
Effects, expression and looping
More than 35 studio-quality effects are available, with an expression pedal for real-time parameter control. A feature-laden looper handles layered performances, whether that means building parts on stage or working through ideas at home. Because the control set is knob-based rather than menu-based, most of this is reachable without stopping to read a screen.
Connections and recording
USB-C connectivity gives you seamless audio interface functionality, so recording is a single cable. Stereo balanced CabRig outputs feed a PA or a desk directly, and a convenient MIDI input allows integration with a wider rig. Up to 99 patches can be stored for instant recall, with an OLED screen for straightforward navigation.
Editing and portability
Blackstar's free Architect software handles deep editing and patch sharing from a computer, so the fine detail happens off the board. The unit itself is compact and lightweight, which is the practical argument for a floorboard rig over an amp and a separate pedalboard.
