Blackstar Pro Series 3m Instrument Cable, Straight to Angled 1/4 inch Jack
Blackstar's Pro Series instrument cables were benchmarked against the best cables on the market to build an uncompromised signal path. This is the 3m version with a straight jack at one end and a right angle jack at the other, which keeps the plug tucked in against the guitar body or a crowded pedalboard.
- Copper tip connectors: copper is a better conductive material than gold, and the Pro Series construction is more reliable for better signal transfer.
- AWG21 conductor: 99.95% oxygen free copper for a reliable, low impedance signal.
- 99% braided copper shielding: far more durable and better insulated than the spiral shielding used in most low to mid level cables.
- Shield ring: reduces capacitance and microphonic effect, so the cable stays quiet when it is knocked or stepped on.
- Insulating wire: ultra low noise and high RF rejection.
- 6.5mm outer jacket: PVC jacket that adds flexibility and durability and helps reduce cable tangle.
- Hook and loop cable wrap included, and the packaging is made from 100% recyclable material.
Blackstar Amplification build their own instrument cables, and the brief was simple: benchmark them against the highest quality cables in the market and end up with an uncompromised signal path. The Pro Series is the upper tier of that range, and this is the 3m straight to angled version.
Braided shielding instead of spiral
Most low to mid level cables use spiral shielding. Blackstar use high quality braided shielding instead, which makes the cable far more durable and gives better electrical insulation. Braiding normally stiffens a cable, so the internal construction was modified to keep the softness and flexibility you want when the lead is coiling around a pedalboard. A PVC jacket completes it, adding flexibility and helping to reduce cable tangle, and a shield ring reduces capacitance and microphonic effect.
What the Pro Series adds
- Copper tip connectors, which are a better conductive material than gold, with a more reliable construction for better signal transfer.
- AWG21 conductor in 99.95% oxygen free copper for a reliable, low impedance signal.
- 99% braided copper shielding for optimum signal transfer.
- Insulating wire that produces ultra low noise and high RF rejection.
- 6.5mm outer jacket for flexibility and durability.
Which end goes where
The right angle plug is the one to put into the guitar. It sits flat against the body, takes strain off the jack socket, and stops the lead from catching when you are seated or working close to a mic stand. The straight plug goes into the amp or the first pedal in the chain. Blackstar Standard and Pro Series instrument cables and XLR cables come in 1.5m, 3m and 6m lengths.
Packed sensibly
The packaging is made from 100% recyclable material, and every cable comes with a free hook and loop cable wrap so the lead goes back in the bag tidy rather than knotted.
