The Series One 4x12 inch MK2 is Blackstar's flagship cabinet, specified to sit under the Series One MK2 heads. Four custom-voiced Celestion Vintage 30 speakers do the work, with a specialised baffle designed to balance out the midrange rather than let it pile up. The enclosure is 18mm finger-jointed birch plywood, which keeps it light, resonant and durable. This is the black straight-front version.

Series One is Blackstar's flagship high-gain range, and the 4x12 inch MK2 is the cabinet built to go under it. Every inch of it was specified to complement those amps rather than to be a generic 4x12, and it draws on everything Blackstar has learned about amp design since the Series One lineup first launched in 2007.
Speakers and baffle
Four custom-voiced Celestion Vintage 30 speakers give the cabinet a metal-ready roar with a tight low end. Behind them sits a specialised baffle whose job is to balance out the midrange response, which is the part of a 4x12 that usually decides whether a high-gain rhythm tone cuts through or turns into a wall of mud. It is a small design decision with a large effect on how the cab sits in a mix.
Cabinet construction
The enclosure is 18mm finger-jointed birch plywood. That construction keeps the cabinet resonant and durable while holding the weight down, which matters when you are the one carrying it up a flight of stairs at the end of the night.
MK2 looks
The aesthetics have been refined from the MK1 for a more aggressive and assertive appearance, here in a straight-front black finish. It is a comprehensive update to one of Blackstar's hardest-hitting cabinets, and it looks right at home on a modern metal stage.
