The Silverline Deluxe is a 100-watt digital head that behaves like a traditional amp: knobs on the front, classic head looks, and controls you can work without a manual. Underneath it runs a high powered SHARC processor and Blackstar's patented TVP technology.

  • Six amp voicings: Clean Warm, Clean Bright, Crunch, Super Crunch, OD 1 and OD 2, each fully customisable.
  • TVP valve emulation: variable power valve emulation from KT66s to EL84s, which changes the feel and response of each voicing.
  • Wide gain range from clean through to modern hard rock and metal territory.
  • Expressive EQ and ISF section plus master Resonance and Presence controls.
  • Super Wide Stereo effects with an analogue inspired character.
  • Speaker emulated output giving the dimensional response of a miked up cab.
  • MP3 input for playing along and a USB connection for recording, reamping and saving or sharing presets.

A head that suits gigging and recording equally, without carrying a valve amp to either.

Description

The Blackstar Silverline is not the first digital amp to give variable voicings and onboard effects a familiar face, but it is one of the few in a long while to make it look this easy and feel this fun. From its valve style guitar tones to its classic head looks and controls, the Silverline Deluxe is a pleasure to play, and 100 watts means it has the power for a stage.

Six amp voicings

  • Clean Warm: based on an American classic, and it does a convincing impression of a Deluxe or a Twin depending on the power valve you choose.
  • Clean Bright: as above, but with a chimier top end and sparklier overtones, which suits slide work and big chordal cleans with a long hall reverb.
  • Crunch: a broken up British combo with raw high watt heat, at its best with EL84s. Roll the gain back for a touch of dirt or push it for thick sustain.
  • Super Crunch: based on a consummate British favourite, in Super Lead to JCM territory.
  • OD 1: an all controls at 11 brown voicing. The 6L6s and EL34s bring out the mids here.
  • OD 2: 5150 territory, and a strong front end for modern hard rock and metal.

TVP and the tone controls

Blackstar's patented TVP technology provides variable power valve emulation from KT66s down to EL84s, which changes the character of every voicing rather than just the volume. Alongside it sits an expressive EQ and ISF section plus master Resonance and Presence controls, and a set of analogue inspired Super Wide Stereo effects. It is all driven by a high powered SHARC processor.

Speaker emulated output

The speaker emulated output gives you the dimensional response of a miked up cab, which streamlines both gigging and recording. Cranked on stage or quiet at practice, you can perform and record without a cab and a microphone in the room.

Connections

An MP3 input handles playing along to tracks, and a USB connection covers recording, reamping and saving or sharing your presets. Between those and the emulated output, the Silverline Deluxe is as much a studio tool as a stage head.
