Carry-On FP49T Folding 49-Key Touch Digital Piano with Built-in Speakers, White
The FP49T is the smaller of the Carry-On folding pianos, and the 49-key format is the point of it: folded, it is small enough to live in a backpack, which makes it the one you actually take to a lesson, a hotel room or a friend's flat. It is a touch model, so the keys respond to how hard you play.
- 49 velocity sensitive keys: dynamic and expressive playing, with a compact and lightweight design that opens out to a full length 49-key piano.
- Built-in stereo speakers: hear yourself live without connecting anything.
- MIDI over Bluetooth: connects directly to a mobile device for a genuinely portable rig.
- 128 voices: a built-in sound engine with 128 sounds.
- 128 accompaniments: custom backings covering a variety of playing styles.
- Metronome: 6 accent settings.
- 30 demo songs: specially composed to give a wide range of practice accompaniments.
- Headphone output: stereo 3.5mm out for silent practice, and it can also plug into the line-in of an external speaker to play loud.
- Battery: internal USB rechargeable Li-ion cell, up to 8 hours of life on a full charge.
- Included: sustain pedal and USB charging cable. The travel tote bag is supplied with the 88-key model only.
The FP49T takes the Carry-On folding piano idea down to 49 keys. What that changes is where the instrument can go: folded, it is small and light enough to travel as hand luggage or ride in a backpack, so it tends to be the keyboard that comes along rather than the one waiting at home. Opened out, it is a full length 49-key piano.
Touch keys
This is the touch version, so the keys are velocity sensitive and playing harder or softer changes the sound. That is what makes practice on a small keyboard transfer back to a real piano, and it is the main difference between this and a non-touch folding model.
Sound and practice
The built-in stereo speaker system lets you listen live with nothing plugged in, while the stereo 3.5mm headphone output covers silent practice. The same output can be plugged into the line-in of an external speaker when you want more volume. Inside, the sound engine carries 128 voices and 128 custom accompaniments that give a variety of playing styles to practise against, the metronome has 6 accent settings, and the 30 demo songs were specially composed to offer a wide range of practice accompaniments.
Wireless connection
MIDI over Bluetooth connects the FP49T straight to a mobile device, so it drives piano apps, notation software and recording apps without a cable trailing across the table.
