The Genelec 4040ARW is a flagship two-way active installation loudspeaker from the renowned 4000 Series, designed for larger fixed audio installations where exceptional sound quality, elevated playback levels, and extended low-frequency response are essential. Crafted with a robust die-cast aluminum Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE), the 4040ARW minimizes edge diffraction for pristine sound reproduction. Its raw aluminum finish (denoted by "RW") offers a minimalist, natural aesthetic while ensuring long-lasting durability. A rear Bass Reflex port enhances the low-end performance, complementing the 6.5-inch woofer (powered by a 120W Class D amplifier) for deep, controlled bass and the 0.75-inch metal dome tweeter (also with a dedicated 120W amplifier) for crisp, detailed highs. With a total amplification of 240W, this speaker achieves a maximum 109 dB SPL at 1 meter, filling larger spaces with powerful, distortion-free audio.

 

The 4040ARW boasts a frequency response of 55 Hz - 20 kHz (±3 dB), extending to 50 Hz - 25 kHz (±6 dB), delivering a broad, balanced sonic spectrum. Genelec’s patented Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW) enhances dispersion, ensuring consistent sound quality even in challenging acoustics. It accepts input via a balanced Phoenix/Euroblock connector (10 kΩ impedance) with a -10 dB pad option.
