The 8030C is the model most people settle on. It keeps the compact footprint of the 8000 Series but goes louder and deeper than its smaller siblings, which makes it the sensible choice once a room grows past desk size. The White finish suits bright rooms, light desks and studios that are also shot on camera.

Why it is a long running best seller: precise imaging and a lot of detail, in a cabinet that still fits a normal meter bridge.

Rounded cabinet, honest off axis: the trademark curved enclosure of the 8000 Series is there to control diffraction, so the monitor stays uncoloured whether you are in the sweet spot or leaning across the desk to talk to someone.

Set it up for your room: rear panel room compensation switches let you correct for a desk, a wall or a corner, which is what keeps mixes translating to other rooms and other systems.

Directivity control: the 8000 Series enclosures pair a minimum diffraction cabinet with an Advanced Directivity Controlled Waveguide to keep the dispersion tight and predictable.

Driver: 5 inch bass driver in a two-way active configuration.

In the box: 1 x 8030C monitor, 1 x 1.8 m mains cable, 1 x Iso-Pod kit and 1 x operating manual. Supplied as a single monitor.

Description

Welcome to the sweet spot. The 8030C has been a consistent best seller for Genelec because it lands exactly where most people need it to: the performance of a bigger monitor, the footprint of a small one. It images precisely, resolves a lot of detail, and it will go louder and lower than the smaller models in the range. If your room has outgrown a pair of miniatures, this is the next step. Finished in White.

Mixes that travel

The rounded cabinet is not styling. The 8000 Series enclosure is a minimum diffraction design in die cast aluminium, with an Advanced Directivity Controlled Waveguide to keep dispersion under control, so the 8030C stays uncoloured on axis and off it. What you hear at the desk is close to what you hear when you stand up, and that is what makes a mix hold together on someone else's system.

Tuned to the room you have

Rear panel room compensation switches handle the usual problems: a reflective desk, a monitor pushed close to the wall, a corner that adds low end that is not in the track. A few minutes with the switches gets the 8030C honest in the space, without software, a measurement rig or a calibration kit.

The White finish

White is the finish to pick when the room is light, when the desk is pale, or when the studio doubles as a content set and you want the monitors to read as clean furniture rather than black boxes. Acoustically it is the same 8030C as every other finish.
