The 8040B is the 6.5 inch model in the Genelec 8000 Series and the choice of recording professionals the world over. Its pristine performance extends to an SPL of 105 dB and reaches right down to 41 Hz, which is a different proposition to a small nearfield once you start working on bass. Finished in Black.
Truthfulness and energy
Genelec describes the 8040B as a nearfield monitor that can provide truthfulness and energy in equal measures. The 41 Hz low corner means the bottom octave is audible rather than implied, and the 105 dB SPL ceiling gives you room to check a mix at working level without the monitor running out of breath.
Power and accuracy
The recycled aluminium cabinet design combines transparent, uncoloured audio quality with a distinctive aesthetic. Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS) circuitry automatically switches the 8040B into a green, power saving standby mode when idle.
