Genelec 8320ARWM 4 Inch SAM Active Studio Monitor - Raw Aluminium
The Genelec 8320ARWM is the 8320A Smart Active Monitor in the Raw Aluminium finish, where the recycled aluminium cabinet is left unpainted. It is the compact entry point into Genelec Smart Active Monitoring, and it is built to be recalibrated whenever the room around it changes.
- Transparent and truthful: a wide uncoloured sweet spot, so you are always in a position to make accurate, reliable mix decisions.
- Rear ported aluminium enclosure: staggering LF extension from a compact unit, with a curved form and integrated waveguide for precise, detailed performance on and off axis.
- Smart Active Monitoring: integrates closely with GLM software, which configures and calibrates the monitor for your listening environment and compensates for detrimental room influences.
- Mono to immersive: the same monitor scales from a stereo pair up to a full multichannel system.
- Amplification: 50 W bass and 50 W treble, both Class D.
- Frequency response: 55 Hz - 23 kHz at -6 dB, accurate to plus or minus 1.5 dB from 66 Hz to 20 kHz.
- Connections: 1 x XLR analog input and 2 x RJ45 control.
- Calibration note: GLM calibration needs the free GLM software plus a GLM Calibration Kit device, which is a separate item.
The 8320A provides transparent and truthful reproduction, and with its wide uncoloured sweet spot you are always in a position to make accurate, reliable mix decisions. In Raw Aluminium the cabinet is left unfinished, which shows the recycled aluminium the enclosure is actually made of.
Small cabinet, real low end
The recycled aluminium design of the rear ported enclosure provides staggering LF extension from such a compact unit. Its curved form and integrated waveguide guarantee precise, detailed performance both on and off axis, which is what keeps the image stable when you are not sitting perfectly still. Drivers are a 105 mm bass and a 19 mm treble, each driven by its own 50 W Class D amplifier.
Compact but clever
As a Smart Active Monitor, the 8320A integrates closely with Genelec GLM software. Through GLM it can be configured and calibrated for your listening environment, compensating for detrimental room influences to create a genuinely optimised monitoring solution from mono to immersive. If you work in challenging acoustic spaces, or you need a mobile rig that can adapt to a different room every week, that is the whole argument for this monitor. Calibration requires the free GLM software and a GLM Calibration Kit device, which is a separate item.
