The Genelec G1BM Active Loudspeaker in Matte Black is a compact, high-performance audio solution designed for home use, delivering professional-grade sound in a stylish, small package. Part of Genelec’s renowned G Series, the G1BM (where "B" signifies the current iteration and "M" denotes the matte black finish) is perfect for desktops, home theater setups, or music playback in smaller spaces.
This two-way, bass-reflex speaker features a 3-inch woofer and a 0.7-inch metal-dome tweeter, each powered by dedicated Class-D amplifiers with a combined peak output of up to 50 watts. The result is a surprisingly powerful sound with a frequency response of 74 Hz to 20 kHz (±2.5 dB), extending to 67 Hz and 25 kHz at -6 dB. Its rear-ported design and Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW) technology ensure precise, uncolored audio with impressive bass depth for its size.
The G1BM’s enclosure, crafted from recycled die-cast aluminum by designer Harri Koskinen, measures approximately 4.8 x 7.7 x 4.5 inches (with Iso-Pod stand) and minimizes distortion while enhancing acoustic efficiency. The eco-conscious design includes Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS), which switches the speaker to a low-power standby mode when idle, and a sustainable build made in Finland.
With a single RCA input, the G1BM is easy to connect to computers, MP3 players, or receivers, while built-in room response controls allow basic acoustic tuning for placement near walls or corners. The included Iso-Pod stand reduces vibrations and enables tilt adjustments, with additional mounting options available separately.
