Elegant Design and Premium Quality

Handbuilt in Miyama, Kyoto, Japan, the Korg C1 Air exemplifies premium Japanese quality in every instrument.
Finished in white, this Korg C1 Air is an 88-note digital piano supplied on a stand with three pedals and Bluetooth audio. The pale cabinet reads as furniture rather than gear. In a home where the instrument lives in the main room, that counts for more than a spec sheet, which is why plenty of teachers choose this finish over the black.
Where the tone comes from
Two acoustic references anchor the piano banks, a German concert instrument and a Japanese one, both carrying Korg's damper resonance modelling. Press the sustain pedal and the strings you never struck answer back, the way they would across a real soundboard. Key-off simulation adds the small mechanical sound of a note being let go. Detail you feel more than hear. Thirty voices sit across three banks, backed by 120-note polyphony, which copes with dense pedalled writing.
Under the fingers
RH3 is what Korg calls the action here, a real weighted hammer design that covers the full A0 to C8 span. Because players vary, five touch curves adjust how much force a given volume demands. Alongside them sit master tuning, transpose and a choice of three historical temperaments.
Playing late without annoying anyone
Two headphone sockets are fitted. That is what makes evening lessons and after-hours work possible at home. Private listening normally flattens the stereo image, so Korg's Stereo Sound Optimizer restores a sense of air around the notes. Long sessions stay comfortable. Unplug and a pair of 10 cm drivers running at 25 watts a side takes over.
One keyboard, several layouts
Hit two sound buttons together and the voices stack. Piano under strings, the obvious pairing. A single press assigns a bass tone to the lower octaves for jazz lines beneath a right-hand melody. Partner mode then divides the 88 notes into two identical ranges, each with a damper pedal, so pupil and tutor face the same layout without reaching across.
Recording and the built-in library
Recording runs to two parts and a maximum of 14,000 notes, enough to capture one hand and then overdub the other. Playback tempo is adjustable, and 99 of your own songs can be stored. Alongside those sit 40 piano pieces and ten sound demos. Either part can be silenced while you take it on yourself, and A-B repeat loops the passages that need the most work.
Round the back, and underfoot
Line out, MIDI in and out, two headphone jacks, and sockets for the speaker and pedal units cover the rear panel. Bluetooth A2DP brings audio in from a phone, useful for playing along to a track. Damper, soft and sostenuto come fitted to the stand, half positions supported on the first pair. Assembled, the piano weighs 35 kg. Decide where it lives before you build it.
