The EK-50 L is the Limitless version of Korg's 61-note arranger. It carries a stronger speaker system and a wider sound library than the standard model, with backing patterns, keyboard sets and drum kits all on board, ready to follow whatever you play. Think of it as a band under two hands.
A panel you can read on stage
Korg finished this model in black rubber, which adds some toughness for the regular haul in and out of venues. Printing on the panel uses red and white, so labels stay readable at a glance. Changing style, dropping a fill or reaching for the ensemble controls all get easier when you can see the markings.
More sounds aimed at the dancefloor
The Limitless edition adds 87 preset sounds to what the standard EK-50 already carries. There are 18 further drum kits, plus 24 keyboard sets that combine four parts each. Ten extra backing patterns arrive too. Most of the new material leans towards current dance production.
Speakers with some push behind them
Amplification runs 10 W per side into a pair of 120 mm double cone drivers, each mounted in a bass reflex enclosure. Korg quotes 94 dB at one watt and one metre, and puts the perceived level at about twice that of the standard EK-50. In a rehearsal room that is usually enough on its own. Larger halls will still want a feed to the house system.
What is on board
The library totals 790 sounds and 59 drum kits, general MIDI compatible sets included, alongside 200 keyboard sets for quick recall. Style presets number 290. Each supplies intros, variations, fills, a count in or break and endings, controlled with sync start, sync stop and tap tempo. Weight is 8 kg, and 19 demo songs are loaded to show what the arranger section can do.
