KORG GA-2 Guitar & Bass Tuner

$18.07

$18.07 (excl. GST) $19.70 (incl. GST)

Korg's GA-2 is a compact tuner made only for guitar and bass, with a large readout for the note and the string you are on. Choose the mode for your instrument and pitch detection happens automatically. Good for a gig bag or a practice room.

  • Guitar mode: reaches down to a seventh string at B and up to the top E.
  • Bass mode: runs from a low B to a high C, so extended-range instruments are catered for.
  • Built-in microphone: high sensitivity, which means an acoustic guitar can be tuned without plugging anything in at all.
  • Quinta Flat: drops the reference in semitone steps, as far as five semitones below standard pitch, with coverage stretching to super-long-scale guitars built five frets longer than usual.
  • Calibration: adjustable from 430 to 450 Hz, with the value shown inside the meter as you work.
  • Sound Out mode: plays a reference note over the built-in speaker, stepping through each open string in turn, so you can tune by ear instead of watching the needle.
  • Accuracy: detection lands within one cent, and the emitted tone is accurate to 1.5 cents.
  • Power: two AAA cells, roughly 200 hours in meter mode on alkalines, or about half that on zinc-carbon.
  • Size: 100 x 60 x 16 mm, 67 g with batteries fitted.

Korg supplies a CM-200 contact microphone for clamping onto the instrument when the room is too loud for the internal mic to cope.

Description

Korg's GA-2 is a compact tuner made only for guitar and bass, with a large readout for the note and string you are on. Choose the mode for your instrument and pitch detection happens automatically. Good for a gig bag or a practice room.

Modes for guitar and for bass

Guitar mode reaches down to a seventh string at B and up to the top E. For bass, coverage runs from a low B to a high C, so extended-range instruments are catered for. A high-sensitivity microphone sits inside, which means an acoustic guitar can be tuned without plugging anything in at all.

Flat tuning for heavier styles

Quinta Flat mode drops the reference in semitone steps, as far as five semitones below standard pitch. Downtuned metal is the target. Coverage stretches to super-long-scale guitars built five frets longer than usual. Alongside that, calibration adjusts from 430 to 450 Hz, with the value shown inside the meter as you work.

Tune by ear as well

If you would rather tune by ear, Sound Out mode plays a reference note over the built-in speaker, stepping through each open string in turn. Work against that pitch rather than watching the needle. Detection lands within one cent. The emitted tone is accurate to 1.5 cents.

Power and what comes with it

Two AAA cells run the tuner for roughly 200 hours in meter mode on alkalines, or about half that on zinc-carbon. Korg supplies a CM-200 contact microphone for clamping onto the instrument when the room is loud. The body measures 100 x 60 x 16 mm and weighs 67 g with batteries fitted.
