The microKEY2 25 is a compact USB controller keyboard built around 25 Natural Touch mini keys. Power comes down the USB cable, so a laptop or a tablet is all you need alongside it. Small home studios and players who travel are the obvious fit.
Mini keys, sensible width
Korg's Natural Touch mini keybed puts a two octave span into a panel just 395 mm wide. That keeps the reach short without shrinking the keys past the point of comfort. Desk space stays free for everything else.
Controls where the wheels would not fit
Instead of a pair of wheels there is a joystick, flanked by an arpeggiator button and a combined sustain and tap button. Two more buttons shift the octave, and the range runs four steps in either direction. Nothing here needs a manual.
One cable, three platforms
A single USB Type B socket carries both data and bus power, with current draw kept under 100 mA. Korg lists support for Windows 7 SP1 or later, Mac OS 10.8 Mountain Lion or later, and iOS 8 or later. No adapter, no batteries.
Easy to pack
At 0.65 kg and 52 mm tall, this controller slides into a backpack beside a laptop without argument. The box includes a USB cable and a code for the Korg software bundle. Useful if you write on the move.
