The minilogue xd pairs a genuine analogue signal path with a digital multi engine, giving four voices across 37 slim keys. Two analogue oscillators, a resonant filter and stereo effects sit under one knob per function panel. It suits players who want hands on analogue sound design without giving up digital tones and user code.
Analogue voices with a digital partner
Each voice runs two analogue oscillators offering saw, triangle and square waves, with sync, ring modulation and cross modulation available between them. Alongside them the multi engine adds a third source that is entirely digital. Drive and key tracking on the filter let you push things dirty or keep them clean. Four voices are on tap.
Three flavours of multi engine
Noise mode supplies four types, useful for percussive hits and effects, and the digital filter can recolour them directly. The VPM oscillator uses a two operator structure with 16 types and a shape knob, which gets you sharp metallic overtones an analogue circuit will not produce. User slots take the third role, 16 of them ready for oscillator programs you write or download, plus a morphing wavetable supplied as a preset.
Four ways to play the voices
Poly gives you the full four note spread, while unison stacks all four into one fat monophonic line. Chord mode builds chords from one to four voices, and arp runs an arpeggiator that keeps working while the sequencer plays. A depth knob changes what each mode does, deepening detune or switching poly into duo. Latch is on the same control.
Sequencer, motion and micro tuning
A 16 step polyphonic sequencer is built in, with motion recording across four parameters. Micro tuning carries over from the monologue and adjusts the pitch of individual keys. There are 23 preset tunings, including some contributed by Dorian Concept and Taylor McFerrin, and room to store six user scales and six user octaves.
Display, stereo output and CV
The organic EL display doubles as a real time oscilloscope, so parameter moves become visible as waveform changes, and motion view shows stored automation. Effects at the final stage are stereo, covering delay, reverb and chorus, and the output jacks carry that width through. Two CV inputs accept -5 V to +5 V for gate, pitch or modulation duties, letting outboard gear drive parameters the way the joystick does.
