Description

Here is a 25 key MIDI controller in white that hinges shut and drops into a jacket pocket. Because the keys are membrane based they stay silent under the fingers, and the scale, chord and arpeggiator features run on the hardware itself. Producers who write away from the studio will get the most from it.

Silent under the fingers

The membrane keybed was designed to feel defined without the clatter of a moving key, so late night writing does not disturb the room next door. Thirteen velocity curves let you match the response to how hard you tend to play. Shifting octaves moves up to four steps in either direction, which opens up the whole range from 25 keys.

Guided by scale and chord

Fifteen scales live on board, and the LEDs light up the notes that fit whichever one you pick. Turn on Easy Scale and no wrong note is possible, since every press is mapped into the selection. Chord mode takes the same key and scale information and puts a full chord under each finger. Both can run at once.

Touch strips for expression

Rather than wheels, two touch sliders take care of pitch and modulation. Assign them to particular CC numbers, or let them sound notes from the active scale as your finger travels across. Run one alongside the arpeggiator, which brings 15 rhythm patterns and dedicated controls, and small ideas start moving quickly.

Two zones, one board

The split function gives the left and right sections separate jobs. Chords under one hand with melody under the other is the natural pairing, but program or control changes can occupy a side instead. Plan the layout first.

Small enough to forget you packed it

Closed, the unit is 147 x 73 x 17 mm and 126 g on the scales. Power and data both arrive over USB-C, and hardware synths connect through the 3.5 mm MIDI out using the TRS to DIN cable supplied. Korg includes a USB cable and a quick start guide as well.
