The Pa600 is a 61-note arranger workstation aimed at solo performers, duos and function players. More than 950 factory sounds and over 360 styles are driven from a 7 inch colour touchscreen, with a 15 W speaker on each side so nothing extra is needed to rehearse. Wedding, lounge and church work are the obvious settings.
Sounds and the tone generator
Factory content runs past 950 sounds. Stereo piano and GM2 material are part of that, alongside 64 drum kits. You also get 256 user slots and 128 custom kits, backed by 96 MB of PCM memory. Polyphony tops out at 128. Oscillator count matches that figure, and the filters offer resonance. Dynamic Nuance Control shapes how articulations respond as you play.
Styles that follow you
Over 360 preloaded styles arrive on board, all freely reconfigurable, and the instrument holds up to 1,200 locations once favourites and user banks are counted. Each carries eight tracks, four Single Touch Settings and a performance setting. Three intros, four variations, four fills, a break and three endings sit under the buttons. Add autofill, synchro start and stop, tap tempo, manual bass, bass inversion and accompaniment mute, and little is missing for arranger work. Guitar Mode 2 and full style recording with step entry are there for anyone building their own.
Performances, pads and effects
Upper 1, 2, 3 and Lower make up the four keyboard parts. Setups go into 320 realtime performance locations. Four pad tracks and a stop button handle hits and one-shots, and pads can be recorded as well. Effects arrive as four stereo master units drawn from 125 types, with three band EQ on every channel and a four band parametric EQ across the output. A joystick and two assignable switches give hands-on control.
Screen, SongBook and sequencing
Editing happens by touch. The 7 inch 800 x 480 TouchView display puts selection and adjustment under a fingertip. SongBook is a programmable database that gathers styles, MIDI songs, karaoke and MP3s, switching modes automatically and taking custom lists of your own. Search reaches styles, songs, performances, SongBook entries, sounds and lyric text. Up to 100,000 events fit in the 16 track sequencer, which offers quick record, multitrack and step entry and saves in SMF format.
Playback and connections
The player handles standard MIDI files and MP3s with a vocal remover, plus CDG lyrics, scores and markers, and a jukebox mode for a long set. Sockets cover damper and assignable pedals, unbalanced left and right line outs, headphones, two line inputs and MIDI in and out. Two USB ports are fitted, type A for devices and type B for a computer, both at 2.0 high speed. Mains input runs from 100 V to 240 V. That matters if the instrument travels.
