The Korg PaAS MK2 is an optional three-channel amplification system that turns a Pa series arranger into a self-contained rig. It is built around the Smart Connect fitting on the Pa5X, which passes audio and power across without a single lead. Earlier boards are supported too.
How much it puts out
Paired with any Pa5X model the system delivers 30 W a side for mid and high frequencies, plus 60 W for the subwoofer. Fit it to a Pa4X, Pa3X or Pa3XLe and those figures drop to 20 W a side with 40 W underneath. Either way the whole thing travels as one piece with the keyboard.
Speaker layout
Five drivers share the work: two 80 mm midrange cones, a pair of tweeters and a 130 mm dual coil subwoofer. Splitting the range this way keeps voices and lead lines clear while the low end stays solid. Housing is aluminium, with a bass reflex design.
Fitting and moving it
Smart Connect does away with separate power supplies and audio cables, which is two fewer things to lose on the way to a gig. Setup takes seconds. Dimensions come to 992 by 173 by 137 mm and weight to 6.5 kg, so the unit stays with the arranger rather than becoming another case to carry.
