Mackie DL16SE 16-Channel Rackmount Digital Mixer with Master Fader SE Control
The DL16SE puts 16 channels of Mackie DL series mixing into a stagebox that lives in the rack rather than at front of house. There is no control surface to protect from spilled drinks. You connect it to a wireless router by Ethernet and mix from the Master Fader SE app instead.
- 16 inputs with Onyx+ preamps: the same preamp design used across the DL range.
- Stagebox format: rack ears are included, so it mounts near the stage box position and shortens your snake run.
- Master Fader SE control: mix from a tablet, Mac or PC, with up to 20 devices connected at once.
- Full processing: EQ, filters, compression and more on every channel and output bus.
- 4 FX processors available across the mix.
- 16x16 USB audio: record a multitrack of the show, then play it back for a virtual soundcheck.
- Waveform OEM software included for editing what you captured.
- Road-ready build made to withstand real-world abuse.
The DL16SE is the 16-channel member of the Mackie DL SE family. It carries the mixing engine of a full console but none of the surface, which is the point: the box sits in a rack, and the faders live on whatever screen you already own.
Control from Master Fader SE
Master Fader SE is the main user interface for the DL16SE and its larger DL32SE sibling. It runs on tablet, Mac or PC, and up to 20 devices can be connected at the same time, so a monitor engineer and a musician can work alongside front of house. You can organise channels with view and mute groups, use subgroups with full bus processing, ride groups of channels with VCAs, and lock specific devices out of capabilities you do not want touched. When a mix is right, save it as a snapshot.
Processing on every channel and output
Each channel and output bus gets its own dedicated processing, implemented to keep the fidelity of the source intact. The 4-band parametric EQ on channels and outputs includes a dedicated high-pass filter, with a low-pass filter added on the outputs, plus modern and vintage modes and a built-in RTA for detailed analysis of what is actually happening in the room. Compression, filters and 4 FX processors round out the set.
Recording and virtual soundcheck
- 16x16 USB audio interface for multitrack capture straight from the rack.
- Play the multitrack back into the mixer for a virtual soundcheck before the band arrives.
- Waveform OEM software is included for editing and mixing the captured session.
Setting it up
Connect the DL16SE to your wireless router over Ethernet, join the same network from your device, and open Master Fader SE. Because the mixer is the stagebox, the analogue lines stay short and the only long run is the network cable.
