Mackie SRM210 V-Class 10-Inch 2000W Powered Loudspeaker
The SRM210 is the 10 inch cabinet in the Mackie SRM V-Class range, which makes it the one you reach for when the box has to be liftable and fit on a stand at the front of a small room. It runs the same 2000W amplifier platform as the rest of the V-Class line, so the size drops but the output does not follow it down.
- 2000W Class-D amplifier: the most advanced amplifier platform Mackie has developed, with the highest SPL in its class.
- Power Factor Correction: the speaker stays stable and loud in venues where the AC power is shaky.
- Custom transducers: deliberately over-engineered with large magnets, robust motors, specially designed voice coils and a polymer high-frequency driver.
- Custom Sym-X horn: designed around the HF driver to keep response flat through the crossover point and the midrange smooth.
- Advanced Impulse DSP: FIR filtering that removes honk, squelch and mushy low end from the signal.
- Cabinet built for the drivers: additional cooling vents and directional porting for heat dispersion and reliability.
- Portable format for jobs where compromise on sound is not an option.
Mackie positions the SRM210 V-Class as a new standard for portable loudspeakers, and the 10 inch format is the argument: a cabinet one person can lift onto a pole, running the same amplifier and DSP platform as its larger siblings.
The amplifier
The 2000W Class-D amplifier is built on the most advanced platform Mackie has developed, and it outperforms other portable loudspeakers on SPL while holding on to stability, audio fidelity and reliability. Power Factor Correction is the part that shows up on real jobs. In a function room, a community hall or an outdoor site where the mains supply is not clean, the SRM210 V-Class stays rock solid and stays loud.
Transducers and horn
The transducers are custom and over-engineered on purpose, using large magnets, robust motors, specially designed voice coils and a polymer high-frequency driver. The cabinet is then engineered around them, with extra cooling vents and directional porting for maximum heat dispersion and reliability. The custom Sym-X horn was designed specifically to get the most from the high-frequency transducer while keeping the flattest possible response at the crossover point, so the transition between low and high frequencies is symmetrical and the midrange stays smooth.
Advanced Impulse DSP
- Not standard filtering: it targets the anomalies a loudspeaker and horn add to a signal.
- Removes honkiness, squelch and mushy low end so the output stays clean.
- Uses FIR filtering more thoroughly than typical processing for consistent clarity.
Where a 10 inch box fits
A 10 inch V-Class cabinet suits corporate AV, small live rooms, acoustic and duo work, houses of worship and any rig where cabinet size and weight decide what actually gets carried in, while the class-leading output means you are not giving up level to get there.
