The lavalier build of the SLXD14+. The WL185m cardioid condenser lav does the work here, clipping discreetly to a lapel and rejecting off-axis sound so a speaker stays intelligible even when the room is not quiet.

Description

Of the three SLXD14+ configurations, this is the one for lecterns, panels and pieces to camera. The WL185m lavalier is the component that decides how it sounds, and it is a cardioid condenser chosen for speech.

The WL185m lavalier

A cardioid condenser pattern gives the WL185m superb off-axis rejection, so a lapel-mounted mic still delivers effortless intelligibility and clarity in a room with air conditioning, an audience and nearby loudspeakers. It is small enough to disappear on camera.

Bodypack and receiver

The SLXD1+ bodypack transmitter carries the mic signal to an SLXD4+ single channel receiver in a space-saving half-rackmount chassis. Its 138MHz tuning range means the same unit works in practically any RF environment, however crowded, which is the difference between one receiver that travels and several that do not. Most regions get 32 available channels per frequency band.

Change settings without interrupting the speaker

ShowLink Ease provides real-time wireless remote control and monitoring of the SLXD1+. You can manage interference, scan for a new channel and update the transmitter from the desk, rather than asking a presenter to stop and hand over their bodypack. A paired mobile device can monitor and configure the setup as well.

Sound and RF you can leave alone

Transparent 24-bit digital audio, a 20Hz-20kHz frequency range and 118dB of dynamic range give high-resolution detail with an outstanding signal-to-noise ratio. Digital predictive switching diversity keeps the link solid in poor RF conditions, and IR scan and synchronisation get the pair talking in seconds.

Integration

For fixed installs, the receiver is compatible with a wide array of third-party control devices from AMX, Crestron and others.
