Digital predictive switching diversity keeps the signal strong in poor RF environments, and IR scan and synchronisation get receiver and transmitter paired in seconds, which matters when you are setting up on location rather than in a rack room.
Everything else in the SLX-D+ handheld range assumes a rack. The SLXD25+/SM58 does not. It pairs an SLXD2+ handheld transmitter carrying the SM58 capsule with the SLXD5+ portable receiver, which is designed to travel with a camera rather than sit in a case backstage.
A portable receiver, on purpose
The SLXD5+ packs SLX-D+ performance into a portable body tailor-made for videography, ENG, field production, film and location sound. That means the same wireless platform used on stage can go out on a shoot without a rack, a shelf or mains-fed rack power around it.
Wide tuning in unfamiliar locations
Field work means turning up somewhere you have never scanned before. A wide 138MHz tuning range lets the SLXD5+ be deployed in practically any RF environment regardless of how crowded it is, rather than needing several narrow-range units to cover the places you might be sent. Most regions provide 32 available channels per frequency band.
The SM58 capsule
The handheld carries an SM58 capsule, the live vocal sound famously wielded on concert stages all over the world, which makes it an easy choice for interviews, pieces to camera and stand-ups where you want a familiar, forgiving microphone.
Audio quality worth carrying
Transparent 24-bit digital audio, an extended 20Hz-20kHz frequency range and an expansive 118dB dynamic range give high-resolution detail and an outstanding signal-to-noise ratio. Digital predictive switching diversity maintains a strong signal even in poor RF environments.
Control on location
ShowLink Ease provides real-time wireless remote control and monitoring of the SLXD2+ transmitter, so settings can be changed without interrupting a take. IR scan and synchronisation pair the two in seconds, and rugged metal construction on the transmitter suits a working day outdoors.
