Classic Top Boost voicing
The Top Boost circuit is the reason a Vox sounds like a Vox. On the AC10C1 it runs from clean chime at low gain settings into a thick, harmonically rich crunch as you push it. The two band EQ is highly interactive, so treble and bass work against each other rather than in isolation and small moves make a real difference to the character of the amp.
All-valve signal path
Two 12AX7 dual triode valves handle the preamp stage and two EL84 pentodes drive the output. That is the same valve complement family used in the larger Vox amps, which is why the compression, sag and touch response feel familiar even at a fraction of the wattage.
Ten watts that carry
