The Yamaha CBR15 15-Inch Passive Loudspeaker is a powerhouse in the CBR Series, engineered for versatility and high-definition sound. Featuring a 15-inch woofer with a 2.5-inch voice coil and a 1.4-inch compression driver, this 2-way passive speaker delivers robust bass, clear mids, and crisp highs. With a frequency response of 46 Hz to 20,000 Hz (-10 dB), it offers the deepest low-end in the series, making it perfect for live performances, DJ events, and permanent installations requiring strong sound pressure levels (SPL).

Boasting a peak power handling of 1000 watts (500W program, 250W RMS) and a maximum SPL of 126 dB, the CBR15 excels in medium to large venues. Its wide-dispersion constant directivity horn (90° horizontal x 60° vertical) ensures even sound coverage with minimal distortion, while the 2.0 kHz crossover provides a seamless blend between drivers. An HF protection circuit safeguards the compression driver during high-output use, enhancing reliability.

 

The bass-reflex enclosure, crafted from lightweight yet rugged plastic, weighs just 17.7 kg (39 lbs) and includes ergonomic handles for portability. A 50° wedge angle and symmetrical shape make it ideal for floor monitoring, including mirror-mode setups, while M8 rigging points and a 35 mm pole mount offer installation flexibility. Connectivity is simple with one Neutrik SpeakON NL4 jack and one 1/4" TS phone jack.

Whether used as front-of-house (FOH) reinforcement, a stage monitor, or in fixed setups like schools and churches, the CBR15 combines durability, power, and precision. Pair it with an external amplifier (e.g., Yamaha PX5) for optimal performance. Optional speaker covers are available for added protection. Compared to the CBR10 and CBR12, the CBR15 stands out with its superior bass response and higher SPL, delivering exceptional value and sound quality.
