Part of Yamaha’s acclaimed DXR mkII Series, this upgraded model delivers a potent 1100W peak power (950W LF + 150W HF) via an efficient Class-D amplifier, achieving a maximum sound pressure level (SPL) of 134 dB—among the highest in its class. Whether used for front-of-house (FOH) reinforcement, floor monitoring, or rigged installations, the DXR12mkII combines advanced technology with a compact, portable design.

The speaker features a 12-inch low-frequency (LF) woofer with a 2.5-inch voice coil and ferrite magnet, delivering deep, punchy bass and detailed mids. Paired with an upgraded 1.75-inch Neodymium compression driver, the high-frequency (HF) section offers crisp, clear vocals and highs up to 20 kHz. A constant-directivity horn provides 90° horizontal by 60° vertical coverage, ensuring even sound dispersion across large areas. The frequency response spans 52 Hz to 20 kHz (-10 dB), making it ideal for music, speech, and more.

 

Yamaha’s proprietary FIR-X Tuning employs linear-phase FIR filters to optimize the crossover between LF and HF drivers, eliminating phase distortion for smooth, high-definition audio. The D-Contour multiband compressor enhances tonal consistency with two selectable modes: FOH/Main for projection and Monitor for reduced low-end buildup. Robust DSP protection circuits safeguard the transducers, amplifier, and power supply against clipping, overheating, and overvoltage.

Encased in a rugged, non-resonant ABS enclosure with a bass-reflex design, the DXR12mkII minimizes vibrations and distortion at high volumes. Weighing just 40.3 lbs (18.3 kg) and measuring 14 2/8" W x 23 5/8" H x 13 6/8" D, it’s portable yet durable, with a steel grille and aluminum handles. Mounting options include a dual-angle pole socket (0° or 7° tilt), M10 rigging points, and a symmetrical design for mirror-mode monitoring.

The onboard 3-channel mixer offers flexible connectivity: XLR mic/line input, dual 1/4" TRS jacks, and RCA inputs, plus XLR Thru and Link Out ports. Adjustable HPF (100 Hz or 120 Hz) ensures seamless integration with DXS subwoofers. Developed with NEXO, this speaker excels in live bands, DJ setups, solo performances, worship venues, and portable PA systems, delivering touring-grade reliability and performance worldwide with its universal 100-240V power supply.
