Most pedalboards reach a point where the board is full and something is still missing, one slot of space and a job that needs doing. The MS-50G+ is built for exactly that slot. It is a single stompbox sized enclosure holding 102 effects, so whatever the gap turns out to be, it is already covered.
What is inside
The effect set is Zoom's latest generation, running across drives, modulations, delays, reverbs, compressors, filters and special effects. Some are emulations of classic units and some are Zoom originals with no obvious ancestor. The preamps are the more interesting part, developed with Zoom's Multi-Layer IR technology, so the amp voicings come from impulse responses rather than simple filtering.
Built for the floor
The frame is metal, because the pedal is designed to withstand the rigours of live performance rather than to be admired on a shelf. Cross Key switches let you move between effects with a tap of the foot mid song, which is what matters when a sound change has to happen on beat. The four encoder knobs handle parameter editing when there is time to crouch down, and the LCD changes colour according to effect category, so scrolling a large library stays readable on a dark stage.
Stereo out
There are two quarter inch outputs. Running both keeps the stereo image of the reverbs, choruses and delays intact, which matters if you are feeding two amps or going straight into a desk.
Guitar Lab keeps it growing
The library is not fixed. Zoom's free Guitar Lab software has delivered 27 additional effects to the MS-50G+ so far, starting with a batch of 24 in November 2024, then OverDrive in December 2025, Modulation Delay 2 in January 2026 and the Stereo Guitar Graphic EQ7 in June 2026. Guitar Lab also manages and backs up patches, so a board that took an evening to dial in is not one accident away from being lost.
